Accessibility Statement

Last updated: February 24, 2026

Our Commitment

Deemto is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone. As a platform serving immigrants — many of whom face unique barriers — accessibility is not just a feature for us, it's a core value.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the following standards:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • ARIA — Accessible Rich Internet Applications specifications
  • AODA — Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act standards (as a Canadian platform)

What We've Implemented

⌨️

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Focus states are clearly visible throughout the application.

🔊

Screen Reader Support

ARIA labels, roles, and live regions are used to convey information to assistive technologies.

🌗

Dark Mode

Full light/dark mode support with a manual toggle and system preference detection, reducing eye strain and accommodating visual preferences.

🎨

Color Contrast

Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient contrast ratios against their backgrounds in both themes.

📋

Semantic HTML

Proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements for clear document structure.

📝

Form Accessibility

All form fields have associated labels, error messages are linked to inputs, and required fields are clearly indicated.

📱

Responsive Design

The interface adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and orientations without loss of functionality.

🎯

Focus Management

Modals, dropdowns, and dynamic content properly manage focus to maintain a logical navigation order.

Known Limitations

We are actively working to improve accessibility. Current known limitations include:

  • Some AI-generated content may not have optimal reading order in complex layouts
  • Real-time streaming AI responses may not announce character-by-character to screen readers (they announce on completion)
  • Some third-party embedded content may have accessibility gaps

We prioritize fixing accessibility issues and welcome reports from users.
